WATERPROOF FINISH
An easy care finish that won't crack or peel. Looks great, hard wearing
and water, alcohol and heat proof.
This finish is also applied by hand - brushed on so that your piece will
retain that just polished look for years and years.
Just wipe over with a damp cloth for a finish as good as new.

Your piece of fine furniture has been lovingly hand finished with shellac and wax and should give you years of pleasure with no need for re-waxing. The wax is forced into the grain using steel wool and will therefore form a reasonable barrier against spills etc.
Some points to help keep it in showroom condition are:
Do not place cups, mugs or wine glasses without a coaster.
You can wipe the dust off with a well
wrung damp cloth and then buff (a piece of old towel or sweatshirt is
best)
You can use modern spray polishes - they do not seem to do any harm and
are easy and quick to use and bring up the piece to a nice shine.
The surface does not usually get scratch marks as with more commercial
spray type finishes neither will it ever "peel" or "crackle". Should
you accidentally scratch it quite deeply the surface can quickly and easily
be repaired with a little sandpaper, french polish and wax.
